Say What You what you Wanna Say…

I would like to invite you to offer your thoughts and opinion on any of the topics discussed here.  It’s a public place, so of course we want to keep it classy, except for maybe the upcoming elaphs pages, which may get a little trashy, other than that though, say what you mean and mean what you say.  Others want to hear what you have to say, and so do I, and here’s yet another place to let your voice be heard.

A Memorial Day Salute

Remembering Americas Soldiers

Memorial Day Salute

Every year we take a day and set it aside to pay homage to the men and women who paid the highest price possible for the freedom we so often take for granted.  Let us stop then and say a prayer for the families who will no longer enjoy the companionship of the brave sons and daughters, dads and moms, nephews, nieces, grandsons and granddaughters who will no longer be coming to this earthly home of ours.

And let not their sacrifices be in vain.  Do not take this freedom of ours for granted.  Every day through the next year, every time you go to church, every time you go to a public library, when you visit the seat of local government, when you go to the polls to vote, remember that someone died fighting to preserve for you the freedom to do those things.  The freedom to do anything you are free to do in the greatest country the world has ever known.

May America Praise God and May God Bless America!

southeastern Guide dog Twenty Fifth Annual Walk-a-Thon Coming In march!

Southeastern Guide Dog's Twenty fifth Annual Walk-a-Thon Coming In March!

Its time to take the Labrador shuffle on the road again.  And I just cant wait to get on the road again.    The life I love is raising money for my friends, and I cant wait to get on the road again.  Forgive me Willie!  But I just cant help myself.

The gift Southeastern Guide dogs and their supporters gave to me back in 2003 is still as unbelievable to me today as it was all those years ago.  And my desire to continue paying forward is still as strong as ever.

My guide dog, Lucky, is nearly ten years old now.  Ive followed, very strictly, the advice given me by the school and to this day Lucky is an incredibly healthy, high spirited, passion driven hard working service dog who loves nothing more than putting on his harness and getting me around to all the places in my town, my country, my world!  Lucky and I have traveled thousands of miles in eight years and with the grace of God it will be many more years and many more miles before I need to return to southeastern for a new guide.  Right now though, there are still many blind men and women who have not yet received their first guide, and many who are now ready for a new one.

Southeastern Guide Dog School, Inc. (SEGDI) receives NO money from your tax dollars.  All of the money it takes to raise and train the dogs, house the humans while they learn how to use a guide dog and the support SEGDI offers all of its graduates are generated through fund raising events.

The Walk-a-Thon is the biggest event of the year.  Its importance to the overall financial stability of the school can not be over-stated.  Help me and Lucky do our part to make the twenty fifth annual walk-a-thon the biggest and best ever by visiting our special, secure, donation page at http://sitstaygive.org/musicforsight and make a donation today.  Please?

And heres what I myself am going to do.  Ill start the ball rolling with a $50.00 donation.  And Ill do even more.  Lots of people participate in the walk-a-thon.  Not all are graduates like me.  However; the graduate who raises the most money through his or her special, secure, donation page will receive a $500.00 Target gift card.  If I win I will use my card to purchase things the school needs and give those things to the school in honor of all of you who help me raise more money than any other SEGDI graduate!

So, please, take a few minutes right now and visit my special, secure, donation page and make your donation today.  No donation is too small.  And certainly, no donation is too large.  The most important thing is that you donate!

Thank you!

And of course, anyone who donates through my special, secure, donation page will also receive a free, autographed by Lucky, copy of Im the Lucky One!  Now, lets all get ready and do The Labrador shuffle while seeing the world through Lucky eyes.  Then youll see why I say, Im the Lucky One!

Don and Lucky

Heartfelt Thanks To All and To All Happy New Year

My Heartfelt Thanks to All of Our Loyal Supporters and To All of You My Very Sincere Wishes for a Happy New Year

It's been a great year here at Music for sight.  And it's the support and generosity of all of you that has helped to make it so. At the top of a very long list of people I would like to specifically thank are my wife and best friend Tammy sue, my kids, Michelle, Jason, Renae, Ethan and Rachel.   And of course, my mom, without whom this would not be!

To all you have donated your hard earned money and to those of you who took the extra second or two it takes to begin your Amazon shopping by starting out in The Music for Sight Shoppe, thank you very much!

And to those of you who found yourselves doing the Labrador shuffle while Seeing the World Through Lucky eyes, rock on!

I am eagerly anticipating the fun well be having around here in 2011.

Now, lets get back to the music!

Sincerely,

Don and Lucky
