Have You Ever Wondered?
I Was Wondering
If there is anything to the thought that
the graphic equalizer (EQ) that we have come to know and love, and abuse on our pc based audio systems that most normal humans
do not have the inherit sense of hearing that is sufficiently acute to detect the subtle differences in those settings realize
what we are doing to their song, ma.
Is it possible that when we take away from
or add to the sound that the producers, recording engineers and most of all the recording artists wanted when they sat down
to record the song we are just denying ourselves the very thing they were trying to give us.
If so, wouldnt it be great to have a place
where we could find the EQ settings, band by band for a particular song, like say Eric Clapton doin his Robert Johnson study
which Im guessing, probably be significantly different than those for say, Patsy Clines recording of Crazy; store those
values in the mp3 file. And have Winamp or WMP or any other major player with a decent built in EQ utilize those settings?
Just a thought.

Fall Is In the Air
Fall in Florida
It's
an elusive thing. Sometimes it comes. SOME TIMES IT DOES NOT. Typically
we go from the dog days of summer to dead of winter in a single cold front. Hurricane season is drawing to a close.
Thankfully we have almost made it again. That sound you hear is me knocking the virtual maple desk.
This
year fall has been coming in nicely. And slowly. It started a week or so before my youngest son's birthday and
continues right on through today.
Take
a break from your busy day and look around our site. Some new articles you may
enjoy and some great bargains in our Shoppe that you will love! Who doesnt love
saving money?

| One of these could be guiding you one day! |
Seeing the world through Lucky Eyes while doing the Labrador Shuffle
sums up in a vague sort of way what Music for Sight is all about and how music can create visual imagery in the mind of
the visually impaired. There is more to it than that though. There is the big issue of successfully dealing with
the psychological challenge of getting along in a world that takes for granted everyone possesses all five of the senses we
were all meant to have. Here we focus on sight loss. And we focus on what it takes to get along in the world without
sight. It isn’t easy, but it is done every day by men, women and children from all walks of life.
There's a good deal of opportunity for the blind and visually
impaired to find assistance with getting along in the world. One of those is the amazing gift of a guide dog.
And so we'll focus a lot on that.
We will also bring you news on technology, world events,
weather, sports and politics.
Stop by often, and tell your friends about Music for Sight!
Say What You what you Wanna Say…
I would like to invite you to offer
your thoughts and opinion on any of the topics discussed here. It’s a public
place, so of course we want to keep it classy, except for maybe the upcoming elaphs pages, which may get a little trashy,
other than that though, say what you mean and mean what you say. Others want
to hear what you have to say, and so do I, and here’s yet another place to let your voice be heard.
